It’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and we’re so excited and pleased that we are partnering with the American Childhood Cancer Organization now through October to help honor and remember children and families affected by this terrible disease. To show our support, we’re donating 20% of the proceeds of some of our products to the ACCO to help benefit their efforts. You can learn more about our partnership here.
As part of our partnership, we’ve been running a campaign on our Facebook pages where families directly affected by childhood cancer can share their stories to win free TriDerma products. These inspiring, brave stories can potentially help other people and families struggling with childhood cancer and we want to thank everyone who took the time to share with us. Here are some of the stories of braver cancer warriors:
“In 2012 my son was diagnosed with Leukemia and ACCO provided a wonderful assortment of items that not only helped him, but helped the entire family including my 2 daughters. Your books and stuffed animal helped guide me and my daughters thru a difficult journey. When my eldest daughter was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2015 ACCO once again was there to help. My daughter brought her blanket to every chemo and radiation appt. It’s soft and luxurious and comfortable, she would wrap it around herself like strong arms holding her up. My youngest daughter was provided your medical kit that helped her to see what her siblings are going thru. It helps her understand and I often times find her soothing her “babies” after giving them shots and or accessing their ports. I am by no means happy my children need these items, but I’m lifted up in spirit to know they are there because they truly are an asset to those maneuvering thru this journey.” – Rebekah H.
“My son, Nate was diagnosed 4 -5-06 with ALL. He was 3 years old. I had suffered an amniotic fluid embolism just 4 weeks prior. My daughter was newly home, from the NICU He did 3 and a half years of chemotherapy. ACCO provided books and stuffed animals to help my daughter, and older son. Nate is now 12 and doing well. We go in every 4 weeks, for IVIG to boost his immune system. For some reason, after chemo, his immune system never came back.” – Erin W.
“Our daughter Mya was born with a germ cell tumor, she had it removed at 3 weeks and we found it was malignant at 4 weeks. We waited to do chemotherapy to see how effective surgery was. When she was 3.5 months we decided to proceed with chemotherapy. She had her last day on 8-24-15!! Lots of follow up scans but her doctors are confident that her cancer is gone!” –Anna M.
“My son’s name is DJ [last name] and he was diagnosed with t-cell lymphoma on 10-19-2012 at the age of 3. He was a preschooler when he was 1st diagnosed and now he’s my little 6 yr. old happy 1st grader. His last day of chemo was February 26th of 2015, all these kids are my hero’s but my son is my everyday real life super hero!!!” Daniel O.
